Dr John Veron, coral expert from Australia, in a website says that he have identified 450 kind of coral in two weeks research in Raja Ampat. From 450 kinds of coral, 7 is the new variety of coral in science. "finding new coral just in one visit, that is something that i cant imagine....." said Veron. Gerry Allen fish expert, say something similiar with Veron, only the different is the Gerry say about the Variety of the fish.



Expert Team from Conservation International, The Nature Conservancy, dan Lembaga Oseanografi Nasional (LON) Lembaga Ilmu Pengetahuan Indonesia (LIPI) have doing some quick count about this place in the year of 2001 and 2002. The result is, they have write data that in Raja Ampat have more than 540 kinds of hard coral (75% of variety in the world), more than 1000 kinds of coral fish, 700 kinds of molusca gonodactyloid stomatopod crustaceans.

that number more than number you can get in other place, and this place would become conservation area. so there a new live that found live under the sea of Papua.
